Six couples, six intertwined stories in “Entrelacés”

From the very first glance, every couple is destined to face the same stages: the honeymoon, the power struggle, the doubt. We reach the plateau of true love, big future plans, and finally, more often than not, the break-up. Through the story of a different couple in each episode, by proxy and in parallel with each other, Entrelacés sums up Michel and Marie’s love story. Because we’re all a little Michel or a little Marie.

Some of our favorite mentions

Entrelacés is a 6-episode series that follows the different stages of a romantic relationship. This fictional webseries was produced with the support of Télé-Québec and funding from the Independent Production Fund and the Bell Fund. Entrelacés won three Gémeaux awards in 2022 (Best Writing, Best Direction and Best series Produced for Digital Media). The series is still available on Télé-Québec’s web platforms.

Adapted promotional content

The success of Entrelacés rests first and foremost on the series’ discoverability strategy and its presence on various digital platforms. First of all, in addition to the series’ official trailer, the team designed and produced trailers specific to each episode. These trailers, posted online at a rate of one per week, got the series media attention for over a month. Each post accompanying the weekly trailer included a link to the Télé-Québec viewing platform, to maximize the number of viewers of the series.

Behind the scenes

Several weeks after the series was launched and put online, we shared making-of vignettes on social networks. These videos were intended to be an indispensable tool for re-launching the series’ presence. It’s normal for the series to lose some of its visibility following early campaign initiatives (launch event, episodic trailers, etc.), so it was important for us to launch a second wave of promotion a little later in the campaign, and at the same time present a new facet of the series with these behind-the-scenes videos.

A customized microsite

Hosted on Télé-Québec’s new web platform, this microsite, developed using a “Headless CMS” approach, was the main hub of autonomous content linked to the series. This web space made it possible to post information about the series as is, in addition to the necessary structured data. In addition to descriptive information about the series, the microsite’s rich universe helped to immerse the user in a singular, intuitive experience; an approach designed to win the loyalty of a future audience through a strong “series brand”.
